Ransomware Families – SynoLocker

SynoLocker was discovered in August 2014.

SynoLocker is a unique ransomware in that it targets Synology network attached storage devices, using AES-256 for encryption, once encrypted an admin website is loaded demanding the ransom to be paid. Once the website is loaded, a Tor address is loaded with an identification code that must be entered for payment. 

SynoLocker ransoms 0.6 Bitcoin (roughly $500 USD) and can be decrypted through the Tor website.
